Grass farming / by derrick milimo

Grass farming is one of the little known and practiced in Kenya( Rhode grass aka Hay!)

On the other side of this farm lies a commercial forest, and as a result, monkeys have encroached, and brought losses to the nearing farms. Several attempts to involve Kenya Wildlife Service through the local chief have bore little fruits. This left the owner to think out of the box, so to speak. That is how the owner ventured into grass farming.

Some of the things I learned during my trip to this farm are, grass farming can be a viable venture, if you do large scale; best time to plant is, between short rainy seasons; most ideal time to harvest is November-April.
