Nairobi National Park again by derrick milimo

I have lost count of the many times I have been to Nairobi National Park. This time round, I was determined to be at the gate (main gate) before 6am.

We arrived at the gate 05:45am, after covid 19 protocols and paying park fees, we got into the park afew munites after 6am. I really was anxious to see the cats…lion and leopard. But first, we were greated by this!

We then came by this huge rhino, I was ecstatic! Kept my distance though, I did not want it charging on me..

Lion….whop whop…This was my first sighting in Nairobi national park in 3 years! Though I didnt get an image I had in mind, I was content with this…maybe next time…?

Gods favour was on us. Did you know mama rhino and baby rhino are called cow and calf respectively. Now you know.

The sound of a dumper tuck behind us frightened cow and calf and off they ran….

The truck on the right is what I was trying to capture. It was to far away and cropping the frame was not an option.

On our way out, I saw this eagle, took this frame and quicky realized it was to far away….sigh…the memory of it overode my lens limitation and decided to keep the image.

It was a good day!
